Hello there, I have a question related to the leacky pump troubles. The thing is that I have never experienced something like thing before, but some months ago I started to experience the leakage of pump sites, and this is really awful, I have tried to do a lot of things in order to stop it, I have tried new typed of sites as well as after observing that this doesn’t work I tried to change the tubing, and nothing changed. I asked my doctor about this but nothing worked at all.. All the advices that I have received till now I have tried any of them trust me, there were some really stupid ones but trust me I was so silly and pissed that even tried those stupid methods. I have to change my clothes 4 times a day because I’m always covered in insulin, my daily routine transformed in continuously washing my clothes. I look like a freak every day when I’m walking around people with a wet spot on my top. I would like to know if any of you have had the similar problem and you may help with solution, I can’t go with it anymore I’m so sick about it, please help.

The thing that worries me the most is the thing that you maybe don’t get enough of your insulin, so I think that you have to solve this problem first. I think that you have to be on alert for ketones if you don’t get all your insulin daily.

The thing is that I have had the same thing that you have experienced previously, and I didn’t know what to do, I asked my supplier and thank God I did it. They told me to change the faulty batch so this is what I did. After this I didn’t had problems with leaky sites anymore. Of course I don’t know for how long it is going to be okay, even my supplier couldn’t tell me, as he said this can be for a long run but for a short run too. Depends on your lucky I suppose.
September 28, 2017 at 6:47 am #2504AdmiandParticipantI use the insight, and 3 times I have had a wet cannula and I found out that this was because of a failure. It’s important for me to understand the right cannula for me, my cannula for the very first beginning was 8mm when actually I needed it to be 6mm, it seems so silly 8mm and 6mm but makes a lot of difference actually when you change it as try again. Now that I’m a little bit more experienced than my first pumping time, my current cannulas doesn’t show any sign of failure, but actually I’m really happy that I’m here and I have the possibility to read all of these posts, at least now I can pay attention to some things that I supposed that never can happen.
September 28, 2017 at 6:56 am #2505DieGoGoGoParticipantOh God I use Insight too, but I have never experienced something similar ,this is really disturbing especially because I think that I’m going to be more fixed on what can happen and this is bad. Okay, anyway I would like to thank you, some good information for people that are using insulin is always accepted.
September 29, 2017 at 6:53 am #2506HingerParticipantOh great, I have heard about everything except the thing about faulty batch, well tomorrow I will definitely call my suppler and I will ask him about this. Seems to be really interesting why I have never managed to think about this earlier. Well, good to know. I was sure I’m going to find good information here! You’re great guys.
September 29, 2017 at 7:39 am #2507UvochParticipantYou’re welcome, we are here to help, and this is really great that we can do it, a lot of posts here facilitated my life, and I’m happy that I can do the same thing for other people in need. In case you need something else, I’m always here to help, I think same as a lot of other people here. Good luck!
