HCG Diet for losing weight

So well, I thought that it is going to be a good idea to post some information about the HCG Diet which lately, I started to hear about it more and more and got curious until I decided to go with it. now, since I already have some experience with it, I decided to post the information I know here hoping that it is going to be helpful for someone.
I must start off by saying that I have been at 304 pounds and approximately 36 % or so body fat when I have started with this diet. This has been the heaviest that I have ever been. I am a man and my wife had already started with it, she started approximately 2 weeks before I did and I decided to give it a shot as well when I saw her dieting. I must say that this physician assisted program it is definitely NOT cheap, however except for the Adipex in it, everything else can be obtained relatively cheap.
So well, here’s how the protocol goes: 6 weeks of HCG, at approximately 100 to 125 IU a day in the stomach. In order to shrink down the appetite, we have been prescribed Phentermine (the brand name Adipex, the one I mentioned earlier being expensive). The diet has been totally rough: approximately 500 calories per day of completely clean eating. For the breakfast you could have only half a grapefruit, or an apple, or an orange and a protein shake, absolutely no sugar or garbage like for example aspartame or Sucralose (I am not all sure but I think that our stuff has been made with Stevia). Our lunch has consisted of the other half of that grapefruit and around 4 ounces of chicken or lean, grass fed beef and maybe just one cup of a vegetable (my wife and I were typically having either broccoli or green beans). And later in the day, our dinner has consisted of 4 oz. grass fed beef or chicken as well as just one cup of green vegetables. There were sometimes (not always) when we would have a salad as well. We have went VERY sparingly on the dressing. Our treat has been going to Texas Roadhouse and to get the salad, the green beans as well as a 6 oz. steak.
A little note here… they have told us that in case you stalled on the weight loss to either eat steak for breakfast, lunch and dinner for a day or eat 6 apples. For some still unknown for me reason, those are believed to reactivate the HCG and kick the fat loss back in.
Next… weekly injections of B12 have been given in order to help to keep us the normal energy levels and seemed to help with the weight loss either, not quite sure but that’s my observation. Under Armour’s ‘My fitness Pal’ as well as a digital food scale became our new ‘best friends’ during this period. We have not been allowed to have any type of heavy exercises. As an ‘exercise’ we were walking anywhere between 5000 to 7000 steps or maybe more on some occasions every single day. I have started with this diet somewhere in December 2015 (and as I said, during that time I have been 304 lbs – the heaviest) and to make you understand how helpful that diet is – by April 2016 or so I have been around 212 lbs. my body fat has dropped down from 36 % to 21 % and the muscle that I lost has been utterly sickening for me. when I went to gym I got shocked to see that I can barely press 20 lbs dumbbells over my head. Such a frigging shame… women were lifting more than me (and I said that I am a man). The HCG portion as well as 500 calories a day have lasted like 6 weeks or so. By the seventh week we have already been allowed to go a little bit up to approximately 750 calories a day, at the very maximum of 900 but NO MORE!
For those who are planning to go on this diet, please, don’t get scared, you won’t get sickening of eating the same thing because there are numerous of other foods that you are able to eat if you are put on this diet, however by no means you are allowed any kind of sweets, generally no sugars, anything that’s made of sugar or contains sugar, also, obviously, absolutely no starches and I guess I shouldn’t explain why, also no white vegetables as well including corn etc. with white vegetable I should give an explanation but I already made this post too lengthy so if you’re interested ask me and I will respond. I do not have the paperwork on the diet that we could actually eat, however what I have outlined is what I ate ALL of the time!! dieting requires discipline regardless of what diet we are talking about, but with this one is a bit harder if you ask me… therefore it is surely not for everybody and you need to be really disciplined if you want to see results. In case there is anybody who wants to try this diet out then I recommend you to firstly go and talk to your doctor about getting the doctor to give you a script for the phentermine, which, as I said, it helps you to cut down the hungriness. As much as you can imagine, at my heaviest weight, I should have eaten A LOT for feeling full, without phentermine that really helped me curb my appetite I would have died thinking about food. But phentermine it is not as easy to get to start with. I am not sure if there are states (or countries, if you’re not in US) that have completely banned it, however I just know for sure that there are states (and I know for sure because mine is one of them) that have a stupid strict law which is only allowing you to be on that phentermine for only 2 months and then you should be off it 6 months. However, I just can’t see a way to go with this diet without phentermine. At least I personally because as I said, I guess I would have died thinking only about food and of how hungry I am. That is why, in case you are not able to find yourself a doctor to prescribe it then go and find one! In my opinion it is pretty much the only possible way for you to do this diet.
I guess I am going to stop here because as I said, that’s already a too lengthy post. Although I wrote so much I am still sure that I left space enough for a lot of questions that is why, in case you do have some or maybe I even missed something important, please ask them all here or privately (however you like) and I am going to try to do my best in order to answer them all. good luck guys!June 16, 2017 at 7:37 am #1789
Well, I thought that it is important to mention here the food list so here it is:
The breakfast contains of one fruit that you can choose from this list below: an apple, an orange, half of an grapefruit or handful of strawberries. You may have coffee or tea. As sweetners, as I said, forget about sugar, you may use stevial, xylitol or erythritiol as well as 1 tbsp coconut, hemp, almond or rice milk for creamers. (for those wondering, these are readily available at stores like whole foods, sprouts and so on and so forth).
The snacks are pretty much like the breakfast as you can choose from also an apple, also half of an grapefruit, handful of strawberries and instead of an orange one melba toast. Your lunch and dinner is going to consist of 3 and a half oz or 100 grams of lean protein as well as 3 and a half oz vegetable (you should not mix vegetables). About the spices, you can use any of them unless they contain oil, sugar or butter. In addition, you may also use the juice of one lemon daily and vinegar. Here is the list of protein foods that you can choose from: of course and the first one: chicken breast (but make sure you don’t eat skin as it is not allowed), beef, fresh white fish (which means no salmon, tuna, herring or eel), crab, scallops, veal, shrimp, lobster.
From the list of vegetables you can choose from any of the following: of course: broccoli, also zucchini, cauliflower, spinach, beet greens, green salad, chicory, chard, cabbage, asparagus, onions, celery, red radishes, cucumbers and tomatoes as well.
And now, lately, for the protein shake then you want to get as low calorie as you can. That program that I did supplied with the protein powder, and that’s why I am sorry but I just cannot give you the name of that protein shake because I have forgot it… hoping this is going to be helpful.June 16, 2017 at 7:48 am #1790
Hello there and thank you very much for posting this, I really appreciate it but what I think you forgot to elaborate about is on the phentermine part. can you, please, tell me what was the phentermine dose and schedule? Thanks once again for taking your time to post all of this.June 16, 2017 at 8:04 am #1791
My pleasure, I am always glad to help as I do know that a lot of people are struggling losing weight, plus I think that lots of people browsing these types of sites are searching for ways of losing weight. The phentermine is coming dosed at 37.5 mg (as I said, been using the Adipex brand) and it is being used once a day which means 37.5 mg a day. And yeah, what I forgot to mention there but pretty important is that the hcg as well as phentermine are both taken the first thing in the morning before eating.June 19, 2017 at 4:06 pm #1792
Hey there, thank you very and very much for posting that information, I do think that many people might get a lot of help out of reading it. all you said up there does seem to be very extreme, however I have absolutely no doubts that it is going to work. I do understand what you tried to say that this is not for everyone but I think that those people who can stick with it, doubtlessly see results.
What I wanted to ask you is: I read about phentermine and I read about its side effects so I wanted to ask you: did you have any of the bad side effects from using the medication? That seem to be a helpful medication but it also seem to have its profile of side effects either… when been reading about it I saw a lot of people being happy then sad then happy and so on and so forth, all over the place. This also includes of them being short tempered and even aggressive from time to time. I do not use the medication but I would want to. But my problem is that I am already short tempered and I am getting annoyed very and very easily already, an added effect of being short tempered and getting annoyed even more easily I imagine it would turn me into a little demon.
Another thing which got my attention is what about when you are coming off of it and you are going back to eating 2k of calories per day? I ask it because I really got scared me when you have mentioned of how much muscles you have lost during this program. The reason why I ask you this is that I have worked quite hard for approximately 5 years (well, more intense last 4 years) in order to build up some size and to be honest, I would really hate if I am going to lose it all and know that all my hard work was for no avail. To be honest, if I would lose all my gains that would surely make me depressed.June 19, 2017 at 4:28 pm #1794
hey there and thanks for asking, as said earlier, I am always glad to help.
In regards to the bad side effects of the medication, yeah, I do know that there are some people complaining on some sides but either they were not using the right doses or either their body simply cannot accept this medication, as for me, I have had none whatsoever. There was a short period in my life when my libido has been greatly decreased, however that has also happened when my marriage has started to go down and down (and it was even unknown to me during that time) and therefore our normal sex life of approximately 5 to 7 days a week went as down to maybe just once a week. this is the reason why I am not very sure if the medication does actually have anything to do with the libido decrease. Even if it really had something to do, whatever it was – it went away. and other than that I have been feeling absolutely amazing, I felt great and I have had amazingly big energy levels (can’t remember myself ever being that energetic). As far as being short tempered/ aggressive… well, I just have to admit it and say that I am an asshole by nature… I was like that long before using the phen and after starting with it I couldn’t see a change in my attitude one bit for the worse. At least I didn’t noticed it and nobody seemed to tell me that I am an even more asshole that I used to be. however I do know that it can pretty much vary from a person to another… and that’s especially when you are getting hungry. We all know that people tend to be short tempered and aggressive when are hungry and that’s why I think that oftentimes it is not the medication that makes them be like that, it is the fact that while they are on the medication, they are also dieting so they are hungry – hence short tempered and aggressive. But then again, everyone is different.
Next question in regards of muscles loss. Well, I have stayed at approximately 1250 calories per day (weened myself off from the phen) in order to find my max calorie intake in order to NOT gain for… well, anywhere around 3 to 4 months. Then I have been looking at myself trying to be one of those weak European guys that are wearing those slim fit everything and to be honest, the more I looked at myself and the more I was achieving this, the more I was thinking and realizing that in fact, I need to get back to go to gym and put on something back again. That was the time when I have realized how, in fact, pathetic I was… I must mention here that I clearly remember that I read an article in which they said that this hcg diet was great for NOT losing any muscle and now I can say with certitude from my experience that this is a complete lie. The diet is definitely helpful and makes you lose weight, I have definitely burned fat from it and lost a lot of weight, however half a year out of the gym with that diet and my muscles as well as my strength definitely have disappeared.
To be honest, I really wish a lot that I had advice for burning fat as well as for maintain muscles in the same time, however I find myself in such a situation as well… for me, unfortunately, there’s no ‘between’ there’s not that ‘perfect balance’ or anything in that matter. since I started to hit the gym again and running gear, I have gotten myself up to 23 % of body fat and I just can’t find a happy ‘perfect medium balance’ due to the fact that my diet is rarely in check. Maybe for someone else this is differently, but for me, it is literally either feast, either famine. No ‘in between’.
My post is again getting too big so one last thing… with all of that being said and without giving a source name, from as much as it seems there is an UGL that is making a new brand product which supposedly is going to be kick ass of fat burn and I personally am definitely going to give that stuff a shot since nothing else seem to be very helpful for me (I did have tried var and clenbuterol and they never done too much for me). however, then again, my undisciplined self could rarely avoid all the stuff that my body really loves to quickly turn it into fat. Unfortunately for me. but as with everything else, it can greatly depend on each person.June 19, 2017 at 4:51 pm #1795
oh wow… bro, you do seem like you are describing me and my entire life, lol, I do perfectly understand what you are trying to say and I’m also feelin’ as if I’m in the exact same pathetic situation. I am extremely frustrated with my diet which is so pathetic. As you, I have also tried multiple times different things, for no avail. I have even hired once a nutritionist thinking that this is the ultimate resort when nothing can go wrong and I literally followed that guys meal plan to every single of his word.
I am now down to like 17 lbs or so in nearly 3 months, however those came down in the first 4 weeks only and now I am all around at 298 lbs for weeks now, for all that extra time except the first 4 weeks. I have started at approximately 315 lbs. anywhere between 313 to 317 lbs. in order to make sure everything is fine, the last week I have had the blood work done and the results showed that all of my levels are fine, including the thyroid as well. Not sure but it is obvious that as of late I start to think that maybe this nutritionist I hired is not good at all. he is pretty hard to get ahold of I would say, he is just giving me some meals and is telling me: *here, you can eat this and you can eat as much of this as you want to*. As I said, I do listen to his words and I am doing everything as he tells me to, however this just does not seem to be very right. And this is why, I am basically am about to say : screw all of it and gonna get back to eat all of that food that I can in order to actually get some energy from that food and to have a good and productive workout session.
Now, in the end of all of that I came to the conclusion that from as much as it seems I am never going to have a low percentage of body fat, however I am going to be strong as Schwarzenegger.June 20, 2017 at 9:40 am #1796
Well, of course I don’t know and I can’t know since I have not ever seen you, lol, but from as much as I read from what you are saying… you are probably having the athletic build as well… and you are carrying all your weight in your upper body, pretty much as I do, don’t you? I just tell you, in case you can stand the muscle loss then I recommend you to go for the hcg. It is surely going to work and you’ve just gotta start over. In the end of it, you just got to start somewhere bro, that’s for sure. I wish you good luck and hopefully you’re gonna achieve those results.June 20, 2017 at 10:49 am #1798
LOL, oh yeah, it is all carried up top. Whichever the case, I am going to have a look into it and maybe later I am going to bite the bullet and do it. but damn… only the thought of losing all the gains… oh my… as I said, this pretty much makes me depressed and I really don’t want to lose them.
